Refined and non-refined coconut oil. Which one should be put on hair, which on a plate?

Coconut oil has plenty of applications and, additionally, it has two miens. Almost all shops have in their offer two versions of coconut oil: refined and non-refined. Coconut oil – Rejuvenating and slimming down elixir

Coconut oil belongs to oils which can be freely used both for consuming as well as hair and body care. It’s a source of many minerals and vitamins, it delivers rejuvenating action to skin and hair, regenerates and even helps combat inflammations (so it helps cure acne, for example). Apart from taking care of feminine beauty, it facilitates losing weight. To make a long story short, it contains lauric acid which accelerates metabolic rate and helps burn out the unnecessary fat.

Two miens of coconut oil

Coconut oil can be bought in its refined and non-refined version. What does it mean and how do they differ from each other?

  1. Refined coconut oil – it’s the oil which underwent a purification process (which is called refinement). This version of coconut oil is deprived of fragrance and bacteria which can multiply in coconut pulp that is being dried out in sun. Also, refined coconut oil doesn’t feature most vitamins and minerals that are destroyed together with microbes while being exposed to refinement. Finally, this type of coconut oil has high flash (smoke) point, which means that it burns in high temperatures. In other words, refined coconut oil is suitable for frying and eating.
  2. Non-refined coconut oil – this good-smelling, non-purified oil is a diversity of vitamins and minerals. It isn’t suitable for eating but for taking care of one’s beauty. Non-refined coconut oil can be applied to whole body skin, used for make-up removal, put on hair in the form of mask, rubbed into hair ends and patted into delicate under eye skin. Moreover, this type of oil can be used as a base ingredient (macerate) for herbs and plants. Also, it happens to be irreparable when it comes to production of DIY cosmetics. Finally, non-refined coconut oil is a veritable elixir of youth and in this very version it should be stored in a bathroom.
