Coffee and Its Benefits for Face, Hair and Body

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee is one of the best things in the world. This amazing drink pampers our senses, mouth, brain and even… physical appearance! Yes, you got it right! Studies showed that coffee is capable of improving the look of our hair, face and body. Simply put, not only is coffee able to sharpen our senses but it also makes us look better! Today I’m going to discuss the topic of coffee and caffeine, and how they benefit our appearance.

Why does adding coffee to a beauty routine pay off?

There are a couple of reasons why introducing coffee into a daily beauty regimen is a good idea, and some of them include the following:

  • COST that is really low. You probably already have coffee beans at home so you don’t have to spend money on new beauty products.
  • The CONSTITUENTS that coffee is naturally made from are incredible. Just take a look: caffeine, iron, magnesium, vitamin E and B-group vitamins – this is what coffee beans have in store for you. Isn’t it mind-blowing?
  • The fact that coffee beans are free from preservatives means that coffee is a NATURALLY DERIVED COSMETIC.
  • When you use used coffee grains, you don’t buy new cosmetics but finish off the leftovers. This means that you don’t produce waste so you are more ECO-FRIENDLY.

Benefits of coffee for SKIN

When you finish drinking your morning coffee, don’t throw the grounds away but use them for a facial mask or scrub. Let me give you two easy recipes for coffee skin care products.

1. COFFEE FACIAL SCRUB

You will need just two ingredients: coffee grounds and olive oil. Combine them, apply to the face, massage for 5 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.

2. COFFEE FACIAL MASK

You will need just three ingredients: coffee grounds, honey and natural yogurt. Combine the ingredients; use the proportions that give you the right consistency. When ready, apply the facial mask to cleansed skin and rinse after 20 minutes with lukewarm water. Effects? Reduced wrinkles and firmer skin.

Benefits of coffee for BODY

1. ANTI-CELLULITE COFFEE BODY SCRUB

DIY coffee body scrubs will help you reduce cellulite and improve skin’s suppleness. You will need just three ingredients: coffee grounds, olive oil and sugar (I prefer using brown sugar). When ready, apply the scrub to your tights, buttocks and belly, massaging them for a few minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.

Benefits of coffee for HAIR

1. COFFEE SCALP SCRUB

Home scalp scrub made with used coffee grounds is amazing! It boosts circulation in the skin of the head and limits the problem of greasy hair. You will need just two ingredients: coffee grounds and shampoo. Combine together and apply to the scalp twice a week.

2. COFFEE RINSE FOR DARKER HAIR

And now something special for the enthusiasts of natural hair dyes. Before giving you the recipe, let me tell you that this technique requires you to use it regularly. It took me around four treatments to see darker hair, which doesn’t mean that you won’t see the difference – darker hair – sooner. You will need just two ingredients: 4 spoons of ground coffee brewed in 13.5 fl oz / 400 ml of boiling water. You can wash your hair as it’s cooling down. Later, strain the grounds (you don’t have to do this, but the treatment is less messy if you do so) and dip your hair in the bowl filled with the coffee brew. Let it sit for a few minutes. You can pour the coffee brew over the hair for last. There is no need to rinse the hair with tap water.

I hope that thanks to my pieces of advice that I’ve just presented, you will be eager to introduce coffee into your beauty routine. Take care!
